This week on The Stack: X’s Launches and Losses; Latest Legal Matters in Ad Tech; Today’s MadTech Daily episode
X has dominated headlines again, first for having been blocked in Brazil by the country’s Supreme Court, following Musk’s refusal to comply with its wishes regarding news content. Next, the platform launched a beta version of its CTV app, which is now available to users through several app stores. On the topic of TV, The Trade Desk has reportedly been developing its own smart TV operating system, with one partner said to have signed up already.
Looking at recent legal matters in ad tech, Yelp has decided to take on Google. Its case against the tech giant claims it uses its dominance in web search to push its own reviews and stifle competition. Meanwhile, the date of Google’s trial against the DOJ edges closer, with only a few days left before Judge Leonie Brinkema passes judgement on the case. Today’s MadTech episode also looks into a new potential antitrust breach by Google within the EU, in regard to limiting access to Android Auto.
