Nvidia Becomes Most Valuable Company; Netflix Opening Immersive Entertainment Venue; Daily Mail Unveils New Video and Commercial Offering

On today’s news digest: Nvidia Becomes Most Valuable Company; Netflix Opening Immersive Entertainment Venue; Daily Mail Unveils New Video and Commercial Offering

Thanks to the immense demand for their AI chips, Nvidia has become the world’s most valuable company. Finally overtaking Microsoft, Nvidia’s market capitalisation on Tuesday reached $3.34tn (£2.63tn). This follows them overtaking Apple earlier this month. Having been formed over thirty years ago to bring 3D graphics to the gaming and multimedia markets, the company’s trajectory has been an interesting one. With the increasing global adoption of AI, it looks like Nvidia will be keeping its place on the throne for a while.

Panning to the world of streaming, Netflix has revealed plans to open Netflix House, an “experiential entertainment venue” which will be home to immersive experiences inspired by its shows. Entertainment at Netflix House will include shopping and dining experiences. Two venues will be opening next year in the US, one in Dallas and another in Pennsylvania. Marian Lee, Netflix’s chief marketing officer says that Netflix House will bring their stories to life in new and unexpected ways.

Meanwhile, the Daily Mail has announced a new video offering which they plan to roll out on YouTube and other social video platforms. Reportedly, the publisher has over 20 shows in development. Alongside this, they’ve also announced a new commercial offering, Global Video Studio. Brands will be able to sign onto premium sponsorships and commerce-focused playlists featuring Q&As as well as live experiences in their video portfolio.
