This week on The Stack: ITVX Reports Record Quarter; Google Settles Incognito Lawsuit; Musicians Take a Stand Against Irresponsible AI Music Generation Tools

Our digest news this week featured several video related updates. Disney launched on Hulu+ in the US under the Disney Bundle subscription option, bringing together the extensive libraries of both streaming giants. Sony Pictures Entertainment prepares to launch a portfolio of 54 free-ad-supported-streaming channels from April, and ITVX reported a record quarter having amassed 896 million streams in Q1 2024.

In the realm of big tech, Google has agreed to destroy billions of private browsing records in order to settle its Chrome incognito lawsuit, and Microsoft made the decision to separate its Office and Teams products amid the ongoing antitrust scrutiny.

We also saw the announcement of a new partnership between the UK and US to promote AI safety, while musicians took a stand against AI music generation tools through an open letter calling on tech companies and developers to not undermine human creativity.
