On this week’s Stack: The Stack: UK Government to Further Regulate Big Tech; Microsoft Makes Moves; Further AI Regulations Afoot
It has been a big week of news for big tech. The UK government is planning further regulation of large tech companies, and the Competition Markets Authority published a policy paper which outlines the approach it will soon adopt for big tech regulation.
Microsoft made several headlines this week; first for overtaking Apple as the most valuable company worldwide. The tech giant also announced signing a 10-year partnership with Vodafone.
Further AI regulation is also afoot, with Australia planning to introduce an advisory body, which they will work alongside to establish additional guidelines. In the UK, no further AI measures are on the horizon, but the government is working to put together criteria which would need to be met in order for intervention to be necessary.
