Gaming & Ad Industry Innovators Launch Podcast Dedicated Site for Women Lifting Women

In honour of International Women’s Day, audience intelligence platform NumberEight and in-game audio pioneer Odeeo are launching a platform dedicated to lifting women in tech (womendontplay.com), a destination to host interviews, resources, and tools for women (and men) in the tech, advertising, and gaming industries to promote gender equity and diversity.

As of 2022, women make up 28% of the tech industry workforce, up to 34.4% at the largest companies in the US (Amazon, Apple, Facebook, Google, Microsoft). Only 15% of engineering jobs are held by women, despite women holding 44% of STEM-related bachelor degrees as of 2022. The goal of Women Don’t Play is to equip women getting into tech-related roles and fields with inspiration, practical guidance, and direction for how to set themselves up for success.

Emma Raz, commercial director at NumbereEight, said: “This project grew as a natural progression of an initiative we launched last year, featuring a number of women in the ad tech and gaming industries, as part of this project I discovered the need and  desire of these female leaders to help other women coming into the industry. International Women’s Day is a great day to launch this platform, but we plan to continue to add to it throughout the year and want it to be a resource for everyone working in the industry.”

The website launches this week featuring interviews with Singular head of product marketing & content Saadi Muslu, games industry pioneer Kelly Vero, Brand Advance UK/Europe CEO Deborah Gbadamosi, and Odeeo VP product Liat Barer as well as a list of resources for women looking to advance in their tech careers. Over the coming months, the portal will expand with further interviews and additional content.
