El Podcast de Cristina Mitre a Phenomenon in Spanish Podcasting Joins Acast

Acast, the world's largest independent podcast company, has partnered with popular Spanish journalist, podcaster and author Cristina Mitre, to host, monetise, and distribute her podcast globally.

El podcast de Cristina Mitre is Spain’s go-to podcast for beauty, nutrition, fitness, and wellness and gets more than 500,000 monthly listens. With an extensive back catalogue since the show’s inception in 2018, and a new episode released every Sunday, all previously released shows, forthcoming episodes, and extra content will be hosted by Acast. The company will also maximise the show’s visibility globally, distributing it on all podcast platforms, including Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Amazon Music, Samsung Free, Google Podcasts, and more.

The partnership signifies Acast’s first major deal in Spain, a market it recently entered to expand its business in the Spanish-speaking world after quickly establishing itself as the largest independent podcast company in Mexico.

Megan Davies, managing director, international at Acast, said: “This partnership with Cristina Mitre, a podcasting giant in Spain, is a big win for Acast — and for the open podcasting landscape, as this deal guarantees that her podcast remains independent and can continue to be listened to by everyone, everywhere, on their preferred listening platform. Our collaboration represents a real step forward in the Spanish market, and for Cristina as we work together to increase her number of fans across the globe.”

Cristina Mitre, host and creator of El podcast de Cristina Mitre, said: “I have no doubt that by joining Acast it will be a magnificent opportunity to increase the reach of my podcast and that it will help me to make my independent, multiplatform project more sustainable. At the same time, it will allow me to continue working with the editorial freedom that I enjoy — and that is so important to me.”

Cristina joins Acast’s global network of more than 66,000 shows from the likes of Ted en Español, Libros para emprendedores, Se regalan dudas, the BBC and the Guardian podcasts, and WTF with Marc Maron, one of the giants of global podcasting. In total, Acast's podcasts account for more than 400 million global listens each month.
