Tug Appointed by LEAP for $8m Global Digital Media after Australia win

Digital marketing agency Tug has been appointed to manage the USD $8m (£5.8m) global performance media business for Australia’s leading legal software provider, LEAP.

Tug was appointed in June to handle LEAP’s paid digital performance strategy and buying in Australia and has now extended its remit, adding LEAP’s rapidly expanding United States, Canada and UK operations.

The work will include managing display, social, PPC, SEO, specialist legal media, software directories as well as data and analytics for the four countries, led by Tug’s Sydney team and executed in-market by Tug’s local agency teams in Toronto and London.

LEAP is an international legal software company with its head office and development team in Sydney. It has successful law firms using its products throughout the United States, United Kingdom, Australia, Canada and the Republic of Ireland.

LEAP has experienced significant growth for its cloud-based legal software from around the world, at a time when more legal professionals are working from home and require quick and seamless on-the-go access to legal documents and client information. In addition, some markets such as Canada are passing laws to make it a legal requirement, that all legal documents and data be held and accessible remotely.

Richard Hugo-Hamman, executive chairman at LEAP said: “We continue to see significant demand in the US, UK and Canada for cloud-based practice management solutions, which has been accelerated by new global ways of working. We need to grow the global visibility of our brand and offering to drive new firms to the platform, so they can run more efficient law firms, and start making more money. Tug has shown how an effective digital strategy for our business is working in Australia, and we look forward to that being replicated in these key countries.”

Tug’s client service director Charlie Bacon added: “We’re delighted to extend our relationship with LEAP which is a recognition of the capabilities and experience that we have in Australia. The Sydney team will continue to oversee LEAP’s digital strategy with the support of Tug’s global office network.”

Alexandra Steadman, global CMO at LEAP said: “Since engaging Tug they have demonstrated a strong understanding of not only our business, but our target audience. They have a laser focus on lead generation, so they were the obvious choice for our performance media requirements in our other global markets. I look forward to further building on the excellent working relationship we have already forged.”

Launched 15 years ago, Tug is a performance driven, global digital marketing agency, optimised to grow ambitious brands, through the smart combination of data, media, content and technology. Tug’s roster of blue-chip clients in Australia include Compare the Market, Budget Direct, Noble Oak, WWF & Nisbets.
