ExchangeWire Hires New Editor

Today (17 April) ExchangeWire have announced the appointment of Mathew Broughton (pictured) as editor. Broughton joins the growing ExchangeWire team to take on responsibility for ExchangeWire’s global editorial offering.

Broughton joins ExchangeWire from a content management role in telecoms and tourism, to apply his technical and editorial experience to analysing the burgeoning advertising and marketing technology industries.

In his position as editor, Broughton will focus on curating and developing content for ExchangeWire globally, placing a lens on the evolving industry and the challenges and opportunities it faces.

Speaking of his appointment, Broughton commented: “Despite being new to the ad tech and martech industry, I have long had a passion for all things tech-related, and I am very excited to be working with ExchangeWire, which has a reputation as an authority within the industry and for challenging its audience to think differently. I’m looking forward to working with thought leaders and learning everything this industry has to offer.”

Broughton will report into Lindsay Rowntree, head of content across WireCorp’s portfolio; ExchangeWire, DTCDaily, and TheGamingEconomy.

“Mat shows a passion and an ability to learn quickly, exactly the traits we were looking for in our new ExchangeWire editor”, added Rowntree. “He is eager to understand everything in this complex industry and I’m confident will be able to reinforce ExchangeWire’s approach of asking challenging questions and extracting the truth from the jargon. With our content, events, and awards continuing to scale globally, along with new product launches, including WireDex, The Diary, ExchangeWire Suggests, and PressBox, it's an exciting time for Mat to be joining the ExchangeWire team.”

Lindsay Rowntree

Lindsay Rowntree joined ExchangeWire in 2016 as Head of Content, and after growing the team to include three full-time editorial staff, became Director of Operations in 2021. Her role includes managing the day-to-day operations of ExchangeWire's business functions, as well as the content and marketing teams, across ExchangeWire's suite of products, including its global conference series, ATS. Lindsay also features on stage at ATS events, as well as in ExchangeWire's audiovisual products, including The MadTech Podcast and TraderTalkTV. She previously held the role of director of search, UK at Starcom MediaVest Group, where she spent six years, providing her with extensive experience in digital advertising, performance marketing, data, technology, client servicing and media planning/buying.
