Aegis released its first half year results this morning. The headline figure is the 3.7% growth in revenue globally, a £12.7 million rise on last year's H1 results. Coupled with the positive WPP results this week, it would appear the advertising market is doing better than most industry people expected. There are a few black spots in the report, most notably the sluggish growth in Europe. While the US and Asia Pacific grew by 4.8% and 25.1% respectively, European revenue grew by a paltry 0.4%, a worrying trend given the amount of business Aegis does in the EMEA region. Other notable figures include the amount of media spend being allocated to digital. Digital now accounts for 32% - up from 31% in H1 2009 - of Aegis revenue, a figure of about £132 million.
